Rosemary & Oliver – February 12th

This post is a bit of a milestone – my 100th in exactly 2 years! That sounds like a lot to me so hopefully you haven’t got tired of seeing my photos yet. I know there’s a lot of online media overload these days, so I appreciate your support even if it’s just the odd glance at my work (but keep the comments coming!).

This lovely wedding was that of Rosemary and Oliver. I first chatted to them on Skype while they were in Hong Kong, where they now live and work for the next few years at least. Though their wedding had a country feel there were some exotic touches, from her dress to the peacock feather boutonnieres and hair pieces to the siamese fighting fish. The ceremony took place at the quaint Wattle Park Church in Hall, and then we headed out to Poachers Pantry for the bridal party photos and the reception. Rosemary and Oliver hammed it up a lot and Rosemary’s big smile was infectious, so there were lots of spontaneous moments to capture.

Oliver impressively caught the cork and also managed to catch the veil in the process…

You can never be too prepared in the country with the wet weather we’ve been having… but luckily it was a dry but windy day.

Madelyn & Nathan – February 5th

It was a great wedding to kick of the 2011 season. After a nice break in SE Asia over the holidays and a visit from my parents, I’m back into shooting a wedding a week for the next couple of months and looking forward to all the fun. There was lots of emotion on Madelyn and Nathan’s big day, and it started off well with the guys and their super-sized wedding vehicles! After the ceremony at the Gold Creek Chapel we headed into town to the museum for the bridal party shots. The reception had some great moments as well and I was happy to cover some of the dancing mayhem. The happy couple had their honeymoon in exotic Fiji.

The boys had some sweet rides to the chapel – matching rigs!!

Looking out from the reception venue at Functions as a squall hit 20 minutes after we arrived! We had a high-five after we realized how lucky we were not to be caught outside for the sideways rain and crazy wind…
