Grace and Scott’s wedding took place at McC Ranch in Masonville, Colorado, nestled in the foothills near Fort Collins. It’s a scenic spot for wedding photos, with a view of the colorful hogback ridges that help make Colorado so beautiful. The day was perfect and warm with some welcome overcast during the ceremony. The whole event represented their personalities perfectly, including their shared love of beer and the laid-back feel of the day. It was also a mini-reunion for Grace and her fellow Peace Corps comrades from her time in Uganda. Those that couldn’t make the trip were represented by cut-out photos on a stick. The afternoon reception finished off with some lively dancing. Congrats, Grace and Scott!

Jessica and Luis’ snowy wedding at the YMCA in Estes Park
It was a real pleasure to kick of this year’s wedding season with Jessica and Luis, who I had a great time photographing in Fort Collins for their engagement photos at Christmas. The sub-freezing temperatures then were good practice for their wedding day, which took place at the YMCA in Estes Park nestled in the mountains. After warmer temperatures and melted snow the week before it started snowing overnight and kept going throughout the day, dumping over a foot of snow! It made it a winter wonderland and the day more memorable for those that traveled from warmer climates to be there. The couple had their ceremony at Ponder Chapel followed by a lavender toss afterwards. Despite the heavy snow and cold we managed to get some amazing photos outside, and of course the guys had to have a snowball fight at some point. The wedding reception had lots of fun Mexican tradition and dancing in honor of Luis’ heritage, and an amazing candy buffet! Congrats, Jessica and Luis!
